MOSS IN LAWNS
Moss is a sign that something is basically wrong with your lawn. Too often, gardeners attempt to kill moss in lawns without tackling the problem that actually causes it.
If you really want to remove moss from your lawn, then you have to find out the actual problem that is causing it, rather than just treating it. There are various reasons that could be causing the moss such as:
Waterlogging of ground, shaded areas, drought, compaction of ground, acid soils (confirm by testing soil), mowing grass too short (which in turns weakens grass).
In general, a well maintained healthy lawn will greatly reduce the incident of moss occurring in the first place, as moss will struggle to take hold against a healthy strong growing grass.
